Becoming a business owner doesn’t have to mean starting from scratch.
Buying an existing business is a viable path to all of the meaningful parts of entrepreneurship: being your own boss, making an impact in your community, becoming a part of local history.
Starting a company from scratch requires significant capital, time, and tolerance for uncertainty. Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition, or ETA, offers an alternative: the purchase and stewardship of an existing, operating business. This model allows buyers to step into an enterprise with established revenue, customers, employees, and brand equity.
MatchBOX Studios is partnering with Greater Lafayette Commerce to deliver joint programming to connect existing business owners in the region with prospective buyers with monthly engagements.
Participants will learn how to assess a business’s financial health, confirm value through due diligence, and make informed buying and selling decisions. The program will connect buyers to a curated network of professional service providers, including attorneys, accountants, business brokers, and lenders that are skilled in acquisitions.
